Circle of Family and Friends

Hints and Tips Menu

Example
John lives in a children's home. His circle included his natural family outside the circle and his friends at the home in the centre. It also allowed him to identify his social worker as a key person and to talk about his family.

Checklist of items you will need...

*Print out of circle of family and friends  *Small sticky dots *Pens, pencils *Scanner *Photographs from home *Drawings where photgraphs are not available
Aims:

To explore who the people are in your life out of school.

To recognise and communicate about them.

To tell others about who is most important to you now .

To recognise you can choose to make new friends as you get older and different people might be involved in your life.

Requesting photographs of their family and friends may help to involve parents in the project.

If no photographs are available, drawings can be made of family and friends. If possible, use one piece of A4 paper for the drawings, this can then be scanned and the scan dropped into the "Living Passport page".

Print out the finished "circle of family and friends" template and stick it over the drawings or photos page to make one side of the "Living Box".
